Saying goodbye to Buddy

I don't remember if I told you the story of Buddy.  If I have, please forgive me for repeating myself.

It was a beautiful winter day two years ago.  My husband was taking Midge outside for the first time.  Well, Midge being Midge, saw a stray dog, slipped under the fence and chased him down the street - my husband not far behind.  What seemed like an eternity later, they both returned home to tell me the tale of the stray yorkie.  Of course, we all hopped in the car and went to pick up this poor guy.  I, being niave, thought we could just call the phone number on the dog tag and all would be right with the world. Disconnected phone numbers, classified ads, many hours of pounding the pavement and internet detective work brought us to the realization that his owner didn't want to be found.  Our local animal shelter wouldn't even try to adopt him out because of his age, so we found ourselves in a predicament.  As he was kind of a cranky old guy, he took a dislike to Midge.  Rather than subject him to an annoying puppy, we decided we should find him a home in which he would have a calm and quiet old age. That home was with my sweet employee and gentle friend, Lois.  In Lois' loving care, Buddy blossomed into the sweetest snuggliest old boy you could ever want.  Because of Lois' kindness, this old guy had the best two years of his life.  This week, Buddy gave up the fight with cancer.  Bless you, Lois, for giving him a second lease on life.  We'll miss you, Buddy.

Gidget developed a case of hives this week.  There's nothing that breaks your heart more than a furry little girl in distress for hours and hours.  Of course they developed late at night and I was completely unprepared.  She licked off the anti-itch remedy that I put on and then became ill from that.  There was no sleep to be had at our house that night!  We finally got them under control but now we're in the difficult process of finding out what set her off.  Yuck.  I'm hoping it wasn't my fabulous new wool rug that I found on an an amazing sale!

You're all probably wondering what We've been up to other than worrying about our furry friends.  Well, Here are some of the projects that have been shipped off recently.
Enjoy.
