A day in the garden

My Mom and I share a passion for miniatures.  She introduced me to Tasha Tudor not because of her amazing illustrations and fascinating life, but because of her love of miniatures.  Tasha was the kind of woman who baked tiny little cookies to put in the cookie jar of her dollhouse.  Her love of miniatures was contagious  as her friends also participated in furnishing the house with amazing handmade items.

Mom and I have been seeing miniature fairy gardens in some of the catalogs for quite a while now.  We both were very drawn to them.  So, about a month ago, Mom and Dad came home from an antique show carrying a rusty planter.  Dad jumped right in and filled it with soil and rocks and found just the right miniature thyme to plant for our garden greenery.  I found a precious fountain, birdbath and bench on e-bay, and all three of us spent the morning breaking up little bits of shale for a walkway.  We are all tickled with our garden and I suspect one morning I will spy a visiting fairy or two.

I am the luckiest woman on earth!  I am middle aged and I still have two happy, healthy, parents who indulge my every creative whim.   Bless you, Mom and Dad.  I love you more than words can say.

Here are more of our creative efforts from the studio.

I love your fairy garden!

I love looking through your blog at the wonderful framing you do.

Would it be possible for you to ask the owner of the anniversary sampler for into about that design?

Thanks!

That's really cool. I love miniatures. Would be awesome to make a small garden with a bonsai.

I've always loves those little Shepherd's Bush hearts - they're lovely! But the red bird (whatever the design is!) is simply gorgeous!

I like the one about a couple with old English text. The text's grammar is old. It's written in old style.
